Celebrating National Music Day

If you are in Dungarvan on Thursday June 21st, you will have two opportunities to listen to some live music. Comeraghs Comhaltas branch as part of Comhaltas nationwide participation in National Music day will be performing at two venues. Members of Cúil Cheoil will play at the Farmers Market in Grattan Square from 11am to1pm and other branch members will play at Dungarvan Shopping Centre from 4pm to 6pm.

Based around Cúil an Sméar, Comeraghs Comhaltas have two Céilí Bands and three Grúpaí Cheoil as well as the Seisiún Group Cúil Cheoil. The Céilí Bands and Grúpaí Cheoil are busy practising having qualified for the Munster Fleadh which takes place in Dungarvan from 15th to 22nd July.
 
The Cúil Cheoil group who have performed on Tuesday nights during July and August for many years will shortly commence rehearsing for this season which opens on Tuesday 17th July. This opening night will be an all-ticket event as it coincides with the Official Opening of Fleadh Cheoil na Mumhan.
 
In the meantime watch out for two musical treats on Thursday 21st at The Farmers Market from 11am to 12.30pm and at Dungarvan Shopping Centre from 4pm to 6pm.
