Bank Holiday Weekend Concerts

One of the highlights of  Dungarvan TradFest will undoubtedly be the DANÚ Concert on Sunday June 2nd in The Park Hotel, 8.30pm

Internationally acclaimed, multi-award winning trad group DANÚ have a world-wide fan base with millions of CD sales to their name. They are the only band to have been voted Best Traditional Group twice in the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.

Danú are veterans of many world stages. Their last Dungarvan performance took place during the 2012 Munster Fleadh Cheoil and was, unquestionably,  one of the highlights of the week-long festival.

There is a very strong local connection with several present (and past) members of the band hailing from the Dungarvan area – Donnchadh Gough, Benny McCarthy, Donal Clancy and Ciarán Ó Gealbháin will be names that are very familiar  to anyone who follows the local Waterford trad scene. With a great affection for An Rinn and with many memories of sessions in Mooney’s Pub, Danú will also play in An Rinn over the Bank Holiday weekend during the Comórtais Peile.

Tickets for Danú in The Park Hotel cost €15 and are available from the Tourist Office in Dungarvan, The Wine Buff on Grattan Square and in Ben O’Neill’s Music Shop on O’Connell Street.
